Watercolor Meditation & Embracing Winter workshop
in roxanne's studio
Saturday, November 10, 2018
9:15 AM 4:00 PM
Don’t let the holiday season stress you out. There are meditative ways to use watercolor to bring you back to calmness. We’ll start the day with this meditative painting exercise. The day long workshop has a focus on embracing winter - how to paint snow as well as quick and easy ways to capture the essence of the Christmas holiday season. Best of all, we'll be putting these sketches/small paintings into a special "accordion-style" watercolor sketchbook, which you can scroll out and display in all its loveliness any time of year (especially fun in the middle of winter when you are wanting to see every blooming thing possible).
We'll start inside the studio with a meditation mandala watercolor, then a simple winter landscape. We’ll then break for a beautiful lunch provided by moi. Then back up to the studio to continue our day of painting Christmas and holiday scenes, finishing up our day with a celebratory, bubbly toast (alcoholic or non).
I provide the accordion sketchbook, and you bring your own paints, brushes, ink pens. Basic watercolor knowledge is a required prerequisite, but I'll be teaching ideas for drawing, layout, verse, and embellishments for your creation!
